CHISD Update Regarding Returning to School

Central Heights ISD District Update, January 27, 2026

Dear Central Heights ISD Stakeholders,

Central Heights ISD continues to closely monitor road conditions across the district, with particular attention to the northernmost areas where travel remains challenging.

In addition, we are currently addressing electrical outages at the elementary campus that have resulted in approximately half of the building being without adequate heat. We have contacted our electrical service provider and are actively working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. Our hope is that repairs can be completed today.

If both road conditions improve and the electrical issues are resolved, we may be able to open schools with a two-hour delayed start. A final determination will be made by 6:00 p.m. today, and we will communicate that decision promptly.

Our priority remains the safety, well-being, and comfort of our students and staff. We are committed to providing our community with the services they deserve and will continue to work diligently throughout the afternoon to address these challenges.

Families are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring all district communication platforms, including ParentSquare, StudentSquare, and the Central Heights ISD website, for the most up-to-date information.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of Central Heights ISD.

Sincerely,
Justin Keeling, Superintendent
Central Heights ISD
